I am a part of a big family, which is kind of cool because we can blame stuff on our older brother, but it is also very hard especially if your one of the older kids. Anyway, we are a Ojibwa family and all the people here name you after something you did when you where little, so I am going to tell you all about my family, starting with the littlest.

Aiko: She’s two (almost three) and she is a trouble maker but she is cute and that’s why our parents named her Aiko it means little beloved.

Lomasi: me, I am nice and I do my chores I look after Aiko, I may only be nine but I have big responsibilities. My name means pretty flower since I was pretty and my first word was flower.

Ranen: he’s nice and helpful but he can mess-up sometimes, his name means joyful.

Aariz: (dad) he is always out, ether shooting bears or making jokes about his name, you see his name means worthy of respect so he tells every one who passes “treat me with respect you!”

Quinta: (mom) she’s always at home doing something from fixing dinner to making moccasins, her name means born fifth well, because she was born fifth in her family.

As you can see we are not really that big of a family, I just said that because it seems like a big family when you are crowded in one little house.

Holly was looking out her side of the window when she herd the car door close, Sugar was asleep and it was getting late. She was getting cold, her dad left for some reason so she turned up the heater herself. It started to rain it made her even more sleepy, rain always made her sleepy. Her dad got into the car and started driving again. She was kinda curious why he left and came back but she was to sleepy to ask. They where in Hannah`s driveway but no lights where on in the house, her dad didn’t seem to care. He stepped up and rang the door-bell. It sounded lonely not to hear Sugar bark, Sugar was in a deep sleep already. Holly saw a few lights come on and Mr. Dellsheer opened the door sleepy eyed, he was Hannah`s dad. Dad made the come over here thing to me so I wrapped Sugar in a jacket and made a run for the porch. I gave Mr. Dellsheer Sugar, and he unwrapped the jacket and said “thanks for this” very sleepily and then realized that it was Sugar he bounced like a spring and said “OHHH, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!” I whispered “put Sugar in Hannah`s bed and in the morning she`ll think it was only a dream” then he said “I think I`ll do that” then he gave me a big grin and gave me the jacket back. Then me and dad ran back to the car and got in. When we got home Dad said he would come in in a mint I wondered why he said mint instead of minute, he only dose that when he has a secret. Just then he came in empty handed and wet. Then she herd the surprise, it was a shaking of wet fur, it was a dog!! No it was more than that it was TWO dogs!!

Holly was so worried she ran to her scooter instead of the car, then seeing her mistake she ran to the car and got in. Her dad backed up the car and went very slow so if we saw Sugar one of us can jump out grab Sugar and take her to Hannah`s house, but they didn’t see Sugar anywhere. Holy got the nerve to speak up “its all my fault” and with that dad jumped out of the car and ran off the car was still on but she got out and ran after him then he was gone out of sight so she ran back to the car closed all the doors and locked them. Now she could see someone coming then she saw that it was her dad, and he was holding something, for a moment she thought it was Sugar but wait… he got closer it WAS Sugar! he came up and knocked on the driver window Holly unlocked the door and he got in and said “looky who I found”

“thanks I cant believe you found her!”

“well I saw her and ran after her that`s it, its what I do”

“I am so happy, can I hold her till we get to Hannah`s?”

“sure”

and then he put Sugar on Holly`s lap, she was in the passenger seat so Sugar was happy

chapter 3
With one push with her foot she was rolling down the hill, it wasn’t that steep so she could stop when she reached her house. She stopped and got off her scouter. Then parked it. Then she saw Hannah coming, Hannah reached her fast and thats when Holly started to cry. “Hannah, why are you here?” “you hate me”, Hannah answered “I want to talk with you at my house, please come?” “why?” Holly asked, “just come” Hannah said, Holly said “okay, but can I go with you? I get scared when I go over there” Hannah replied ” I guess” holly answered “thanks, hold on I gotta get something to eat first, want something?” “no thanks, I had breakfast already, go ahead” she said back, this conversation was the fist time Holly heard Hannah be polite to say please and thank you instead she said her comeback she always had ready. They went inside to the kitchen and Holly got out a little bag of chips and then said “oh, i almost forgot I need to leave a note for dad he will be here soon, hes out buying a new car!” Hannah said “okay, I`ll writ it, you finish you chips” Holly said “k” and handed Hannah a pen and some paper, and stuffed chips in her mouth. Hannah said “done” this is what it said,

I am going to my house to tack talk with Holly nothing to worry about. If she is not bake back at 12:00pm come ovor over and get her.

Hannah

“lots of cross-outs” Holly said Hannah sighed “come on, it was only three and I didn’t do it for the word nothing” Holly said “oh yeah spell it!” Hannah said ” N, O, T, H, I, N, G, there can we go now?” Holly said “okay then, lets go”

chapter 4
They went outside and Hannah said “oh my!! I forgot about Sugar!!!” Holly gasped at the empty basket and said “oh no!! what are we gonna do?” Hannah replied “I didn`t think she could jump out from there! We have to find her!” Holly said “well what are we waiting for?!?” and they got on their scooter and bike and set off to find Sugar. They where looking for hours until Hannah said “oh my, its almost dinner time and I will probably never see Sugar again” then she started crying. It was not the first time Holly saw her crying the first was at school a boy hit her in the nose with a ball, but this was somehow different then to Hannah’s surprise Holly started crying too then Hannah asked “why are you crying it wasn’t your cute friend that is now gone” she said that rudely and Holly said “I am soo sorry it was all my fault” Hannah said “I am not talking to you nicely ever again!! Now go get your dad hes probably going crazy!” Holly hid her face and went home.
